The Petra Marathon will take place for the first time ever in 2009 and you have the chance to be among the very first participants to run this amazing marathon! Take the trip to incredible Jordan and the unique ciy of Petra for a fascinating and beautiful marathon adventure.
With a history dating back more than 11.000 years Jordan is one of the oldest civilisations eventhough Jordan as we know it today is a fairly new state. During the ancient times the country we know today was invaded by different strong neighbours like the Egyptians, the Nabateans, the Syrians, the Greeks, the Romans, the Arabs and the Turks – all of whom left incredible cultural wealth with Petra, build by the Nabateans, of course being the most famous, but Jordan hides many other fascinating treasures that we also will experience during this marathon tour.
The tours are organised for the entire family as a vacational and cultural trip to a country where the Old Testament meets present day political conflicts. You will have the opportunity to visit historical places like the Roman ruin city of Jerash, Jerusalem and Petra as well as time to relax by the Dead or the Red Sea.
